clove3d is a small, independent collection of free calculators for people who build and run CNC machines and 3D printers. The goal is narrow and deliberate: give a correct answer in a second, work on the shop floor, and never get in your way.

## Tools

- Steps per mm calculator — motor calibration for leadscrews, belts and rack & pinion with ready-to-paste GRBL and Marlin config lines
- Feeds & speeds calculator — spindle RPM and feed rate from surface speed, diameter and chip load, in metric or imperial
- Belt tension calculator — tension a GT2 or GT3 belt by the pluck method, converting frequency to tension or tension to frequency
- Lathe RPM calculator — optimal spindle speed for turning from workpiece diameter, material and tool type, with coolant guidance

## How the numbers are worked out

Every result comes from standard, published engineering relationships. Each tool shows the formula and the values plugged in so nothing is a black box. The math runs in your browser, so it is instant and works with no connection once the page has loaded.

These are reference tools, not a substitute for your own judgement. Always confirm a result on your machine before you cut.
